O knihe

The essence of social development project implementation is to ensure that citizens live a life that could be described as good life. Such life should guarantee the citizens the basic necessities of life such as safe drinking water, habitable residential accommodation, clothing and good health. It is certain that such good life has been denied the majority of Third World citizens. Hence, for many decades, development efforts of most Third World countries have been geared towards the provision of good life for their citizens with support from NGOs' through financial donations towards the implementation of development projects. However, despite what could be described as good support for the implementation of pro-poor projects in the Third World, the impact on poverty reduction could not be said to be significant enough. The book analyses the sustainability challenges that social development project implementation is facing in the Third World and suggests how they could be overcome. The book particularly discusses the importance of social entrepreneurship and how it could be applied in the quest for a solution to social development sustainability problem in the Third World.
