O knihe

The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is rightfully recognized as the longest and bloodiest conflict in the post-Soviet space and, in this regard, is one of the most acute legal problems in the post-Soviet space. This problem has many aspects - historical, political, ethnic, economic, religious, cultural, however, the legal aspect is in the first place, since only law can offer an objective criterion that allows solving serious problems that arise in the field of interstate communication. Despite the ratification by many states of various conventions on international humanitarian law and the active struggle against their violations both by the states themselves and by international organizations, almost all armed conflicts were and are accompanied by the commission of war crimes of varying severity. Thus, one of the most sensitive issues that arose during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the protection of prisoners of war. After all, the suffering in this case is limited not only to the suffering of the prisoners of war themselves, but also to the suffering of their loved ones, who are afraid for the fate of those who were captured.
