The story of biltong

The story of biltong is about biltong, including what it is, some details of its history, different types of biltong, and how to make it. Biltong is similar to jerky and is a common snack in South Africa.
The book explains how the first people in southern Africa kept their meat after hunts, how European settlers made their own biltong, and how the Dutch settlers ate it on the Great Trek in South Africa. It also describes differnt biltong types and flavors, and gives an easy recipe for making your own biltong. A word help section at the end gives simple explanations for more complex words in the book, such as rump and preserve, to expand the reader's vocabulary.
Each chapter has pictures with captions, such as Khoikhoi hunters hanging their meat and the steps in making biltong.
