O knihe

This research includes studies on glucosinolate levels in Broccoli, Indian Mustard and Rocket plants after inoculating them with white rust and using phytochemicals such Bion and Phosphonate to determine their biochemical pathways. The research was derived from my PhD project completed at the University of Sydney, NSW Australia. This book contains material which has been accepted for the degree by the University of Sydney. Glucosinolates have both human health benefits and agricultural advantages. Being fascinating phytochemicals present in brassica plants they are derived by aminoacids. They are also known to be anticancerous and are used as Biofumigants. However not much is known about their interaction with any plant disease or defence activator when applied on the crop in other words what happens to them when the plant is in stress. This research provides information on how phytochemicals are affected by disease and what is the reason behind it.
