There is no doubt that throughout history of humankind there is among different peoples a certain awareness of a hidden power, which lies behind the course on nature and the events on human life. This awareness, of course, results in a way of life that is imbued with a deep religious sense. The Tiv people of Benue State in Nigeria are not an exception. The Tiv Traditional religion, people explore the divine mystery and express it both in the limitless riches of myths, songs, dances, naming, death and burial and accurately defined insights of their worldview. The Tiv seek release from trials of the present life by consultation of the orshoor (diviners), Or-Akombo (witchdoctor), profound meditation and recourse to Aondo (God) in commonality and egalitarian. It is indubitable therefore, that there are many spiritual, religious and supernatural values found among Tiv people which seems to coincide with the Jewish praxis and even the Christian religion. Christianity did not find Tiv people in a vacuum. Tiv people had values and customs that prefigure Christ the saviour but clothed in different structure and name.
