O knihe

The gap between the rich and the poor has widened in the past 20 years to unsustainable levels. And with every new economic down-turn, this gap is getting worse. The value of skilled labor is falling since the 1990s due to technological advances. The fundamental idea of capitalism, skilled labor, is at stake. The book calls for a paradigm shift from nation-centered capitalism to human-centered capitalism.
The author challenges the current capitalistic paradigm that is based on skilled labor. He challenges the reader to make a living without a salary or an hourly wage. He breaks with the idea that selling our skilled labor is a way to make money. Instead, he claims that it is possible to leverage technology and our investor sophistication to grow our wealth by acquiring assets while offering our skilled labor only in a philanthropic manner.
For centuries, skilled labor has been the source of income for the vast majority of us. But today, wages and salaries are not keeping up because of an army of robots, controlled by technology that can do the same work cheaper.
It becomes evident that income generated from skilled labor is no longer sufficient to make a living for many of us. A suggested Universal Basic Income without a clear understanding of how to invest is not a solution to this emerging problem. Instead, the author outlines a future in which individuals can create wealth without working for money. Anderson claims that technology will not take all our jobs immediately, but he stresses that technology will change the role of employment in our society.
