O knihe

This monograph examines the peculiarities of the perception of the works of Thomas Moore (in particular, the cycle of "Irish Melodies" and the poem "Lalla Rook") by Russian poets and translators of the Romantic era. The detailed analysis of extensive factual material relating to the 1810-1830s makes it possible not only to place the Irish writer's work in the context of the development of Russian Romantic literature, but also to partially clarify ideas about the "golden age" of Russian poetry. Particular attention is paid to the issues of translation interpretation of the works of Thomas Moore, reminiscences and the traditions of Moore's work in Russian Romantic literature. This book is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, teachers of universities, translators, and all those interested in the problems of comparative-historical literary criticism and the history of literary translation.
