O knihe
The study was conducted to evaluate the body weight, carcass traits, egg weight, egg production, fertility, and hatchability from three different lines of local quails. A total of 945 eggs 334, 321 and 290 for desert, brown and white varieties quails, respectively, from 20 weeks of age were used in the study. Results were significantly (P=0.05) in white quail through to produce heavier egg weight (12.79 ± 0.08 g), chicks' weight (8.89± 0.02 g), higher mortality (2.34 ± 0.70 %) and Hen-day egg production (79.33 ± 0.98 %) than other local quails. On the other hand, in local brown quail significantly higher (P=0.05) percentages of fertility and hatchability with averaged 79.11% and 86.80%, respectively. The higher total number of egg and low mortality percentage (0.93± 0.40 %) were recorded in desert local quails. Furthermore denotes that the desert line was tended to meat production but white line was tended to egg production. The Best Linear Unbiased Prediction (BLUP) value overall birds for body weight was ranged from -9.2173 to 10.0117. These results showed that were significant differences between high and low BLUP value groups in three quail varieties in the study.
