Central Asia, 1880's. A field botanist stumbles across the origin tulip plants growing in a shaman's garden. She's willing to sell him a bundle full of tulip bulbs but first he must eat one, then make love to her (the bulb acts as an aphrodisiac and hallucinogen). Months later. but almost immediately after the botanist returns to Holland, the near priceless bundle goes missing. Convinced a poor, crippled dock worker is the thief, the botanist goes in hot pursuit, but when he fails to return his son asks the local Constable to investigate. Late the next day the lecherous old Constable meets up with the dock worker's wife and the couple's teenaged daughter at the family's one room ancestral cottage. He quickly discovers the crippled dock worker bedridden and comatose but no sign of the missing botanist. He leaves but not before promising to return in the morning to search the grounds. It's very late and desperately hungry the mother and daughter consume one of the botanist's tulip bulbs the daughter has kept hidden in her apron pocket. As the mother experiences the odd side effects she realizes her family is being attacked by a curse but it also dawns on her that if properly utilized the edible tulip bulb might offer a defense of sorts. Come the next morning she proves there is nothing she won't do to protect her family from the Constable, the hangman's noose, or the evil, wicked shaman's curse.
