The following Report is presented to you with the hope that, in the pleasure of learning something about those from most of whom you have been separated during the last three years, you will forget to criticize. It has been prepared with constant regard to those who have been far away, and hence its contents have generally been determined on the principle that to such, if not to all, minutiae are preferable to generalities.
