O knihe
Most large cities in Russia are located in a tight ring of landfills and landfills for municipal solid waste (MSW) and sludge from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Urban waste not only degrades the environment through pollution of soil, water and air with heavy metals and chemicals, landfills and solid waste dumps contribute greatly to greenhouse gas generation and climate change, which causes an increase in anthropogenic natural disasters - floods, fires, tornadoes, etc. As a result, human health is harmed, and megacities become dangerous to live in. The result is irreversible environmental and economic loss. It is time to understand that we are not only the victims, but also the direct cause of the increasing flow of urban waste. The purpose of the book is not to frighten the reader with the coming catastrophes, but to show clearly that it is possible to prevent the degradation of the living environment. However, this requires the understanding that "not where one tidies up, but where one doesn't litter" which means that everyone has to take personal responsibility. About the experience of EU countries and the possibility of applying it in Russia is told without technical difficulties and in a language understandable to everyone.
