This book is written on urinary tract infection (UTI) in pregnant and non-pregnant females and to determine the factors responsible for the development of UTI. Pregnant women are more prone than non-pregnant women to develop U.T.I. because of physiological changes in urinary tract during pregnancy. Beginning in 6th week reaching peak by 22nd to 24th weeks approximately 90% of pregnant women develop urethral dilation, which will remain until delivery (Hydronephrosis of pregnancy). Urinary tract infections (UTI) represent serious threats to female health all around the world affecting millions of people each year. All samples were processed by standard microbiology methods for detection of UTI and antibiotic sensitivity test was performed by Kirby Bauer Disc Diffusion method. In the present study 37.5% patients showed UTI of which 20-30 years had significantly higher prevalence of UTI, whereas in age group of 60 years and above showed lowest infection rate compared to others. Amongst pregnant females primary gravida and those in 1st and 3rd trimester were at higher risk.
