O knihe
This paper will analyze the voluntary actions that have contributed with great relevance to the history of computing and science. It will address contemporary scientific activities in Latin America and the Caribbean, and a careful examination will be made of the main study materials, such as the book "Stars Beyond Time", which tells the story of the black mathematicians who took man to the moon, and "The Enigma", written by Andrew Hodges. In the Latin American context, the text will explain computing in the area of nuclear fusion and the historical process that surrounds it. The seriousness of technology, the positive and challenging impacts of technological advances, and their influences on society today will be scrutinized, beginning with the history of computing itself, where the high investment in technology was almost always destined for the purposes of war and power, something that prevails to this day. The article highlights the positive work of academia to teach and raise awareness of the use of technology in a sustainable and inclusive way, with emphasis on scientific and voluntary contributions from Latin America.
