It is the purpose of this book to provide a practical survey of both the principles and practice of web programming. In this book, the basic topics and practical applications of the World Wide Web, XHTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL are explored. The subject draws on a variety of disciplines. It is impossible to appreciate the significance of some of the techniques discussed in this book without a basic understanding of XHTML and CSS.
