The increasing human population, environmental pollution and industrialization along with diminishing fossil fuels are the major problems for future generations. To achieve improvements in electrochemical performance of supercapacitors by using better electrode materials along with low-cost and environment compatibility production requires deep understanding of energy storage mechanism, electron and ion transport pathways and electrochemically active sites of active electrode material.
