O knihe

More than two decades into the Human Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) pandemic, globally youth are at the centre of infections with almost half of all new infections are people aged 15 to 24 years. Importantly, the high rate of HIV/AIDs infections among youth over the years requires some questions to be asked and they are: Do youth know the facts about HIV/AIDS? Are youth well informed about prevention of HI/AIDS? Can young women protect themselves against unsafe sex? The author's assumption is that poverty has been a major factor that could be related to HIVAIDS infections among women as they cannot say 'no' to unsafe sex. Therefore, writings on HIV/AIDS prevention among youth would highlight different ways that youth especially women can resort to safer sex and reduce the high rate of infections among youth. In this regard, youth must learn the facts about HIV/AIDS before they become sexually active, and the information needs to be regularly reinforced and built on, both in the classroom and beyond.
