O knihe

Youths in Sierra Leone and by extension in most part of Africa make up greater portion of cliques and gangs due to lack of meaningful alternatives to sustainable livelihoods. The World Bank's report among many on Youths and Unemployment in Africa released in December 2008, investigates the nature of Africa's youth demographics and recommends policies to give its youth access to stable employment and economic prosperity. The report further argues that creating viable jobs for young people is a precondition for Africa's poverty eradication, sustainable development, and peace. In countries such as Sierra Leone being a post conflict society, access to employment for youth is integral to the peace-building process.Using Sierra Leone as a case study, this book brings to light explicit and tangible analysis and recommendations for not only youths in Sierra Leone but also offers recommendations for future research in areas of youth msunemployment and conflict throughout the region.Furthermore, the lasting impression to address youths unemployment related issues in Sierra Leone cannot be overstated as the book draws on clear linkage to it threat to the nation's peace and security.
