O knihe

This book is meant to help teachers and students to understand the role of practical work in the teaching and learning of natural science subjects with particular attention to the Biology subject. It also raises the issue of the way teachers and students perceived the aims of practical work in teaching and learning of cell biology with particular emphasis to the cell division, mitosis and meiosis. The student level of understanding when taught cell division through laboratory work was also raised using a phenomenological qualitative perspective. The current practices used at Eduardo Mondlane University to conduct practical work activities are highlighted and compared with other studies done worldwide. Construtivist approaches were found as plausible and fruitful methods to promote a meaningful learning in the teaching and learning process of cell biology by the means of practical work.
