O knihe

Large population in India is still dependent on agriculture for their livelihood. A shift from agriculture to agribusiness is a essential pathway to revitalize Indian agriculture and to make more attractive and profitable venture. Agripreneurship has the potential to contribute to a range of social and economic development such as employment generation, income generation, poverty eradication and improvements in nutrition, health and overall food security in the national economy. Agripreneruship has potential to generate growth, diversifying income, providing widespread employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in rural areas. It has been found from this analysis that entrepreneurial behaviour index is relatively low for marginal and small farmers. This has also been conformed by the regression analysis. Thus an exclusive training programme may be organized for these farmers to encourage them in gaining knowledge farm enterprise and taking risk in cultivating new variety of crops. The study shows that institutional credit is a positive determinant of entrepreneurial behaviour and thus liberal credit policy at a low rate of interest for agriculture development should be announced.
