O knihe
Livestock sector in India contributes significantly to the national GDP which indicates its impact on National Agricultural GDP. Amongst the livestock, bovines are not only used for their milk and meat purpose but also drafted for draught work and also used as performing animals. Gait of the animal is dependent on limb musculature which in turn depends on ligaments and tendons which are appreciable superficially. Structurally, tendon is a band of connective tissue that transmits forces from muscles to bone. Forelimb has two digital flexor muscles i.e., superficial and deep digital flexors on its palmar aspect. As age advances, a mature tendon undergoes biochemical, cellular, mechanical and pathological changes, that decrease its function and brings about structural changes in a tendon. Hence, the present work on "Age related Anatomical Changes of Digital Flexor Tendons of Fore Limb in the Buffalo Bull (Bubalus bubalis)" is designed to focus on these tendons which are prone to injuries.
