O knihe

Antun Vakanovic was born into a poor family in Kostajnica. His father was a soldier, he saved his whole life, when he retired, he bought a family house in Zagreb and provided the best education opportunities for his son Antun. At 18, Anthony starts working. When his father died, he moved to Karlovac, which then represents the center of Croatia. At the time (1835), he was among the 7 most important figures in the movement. The work follows Antun Vakanovic as a Member of Parliament between 1861 and 1871. His increased intensity of parliamentary activities is visible, as a representative of the Littoral, which prepared him for the position of Minister of Finance and President of the Parliament (1867-1871) and President of the Regional Deputation in 1868.
