O knihe

Despite environmental laws and policies targeted at ameliorating these problems, the situation in Ethiopia seems degenerating owing to the fact that these laws are not effectively enforced. At present, we have various laws and policies as well as institutions at federal regional and local levels to enforce those laws and policies. Practically, however, the management and protection of the environment in was not successful as reflected by the relatively high rate of environmental degradation which in turn indicates the presence of problems in the way the environment is protected and managed. This paper, through the use of descriptive research, is made with the objective to review different laws, policies and current institutional arrangements tagged with environmental protection efforts in Ethiopia in general and in the Siltie zone in particular and to analyze challenges for the successful implementation of policies, strategies and law at zonal level.
