The major issues affecting Augmented Reality applications are: Accessibility and Integration of information, Lack of Standard Data Format and Standard API's for development. Virtual environment has a complex and rigid software, which aim to perform only a specific task, thus putting constraint on its overall designing and implementation. This further adversely affects the system performance. The heterogeneity of network increases the problem in large scale virtual environments. The available architectures like SPLINE and RING aim at collaboration of groups in a generalized manner. JADE (Java Adaptive Dynamic Environment) environment focuses on large scale simulation with large number of participations. The available architectures leverage specific attributes of problem domain and are focused on a particular application. This further puts constraint on reusability of software in tightly coupled architectures.
