The availability of the presence and significant biological properties of the members known so far prompted the authors to extend moieties like 2-azetidinones. Various Schiff bases Schiff based of 4-amino-N-(4-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-6-(6-methylnaphthalen-2-yl)pyrimidin-2-yl)benzenesulfonamide (6a-h) mentioned in chapter-2 on heterocyclization reaction with chloroacetyl chloride yield the biologically active 2-azetidinones (¿-lactams).
