O knihe

Hydroxyapatite (HA) has become the first choice for coating of bio-implants in the past decade due to its Ca/P ratio, which is almost similar to the human bone. It is used as a coating material for various body implants so that the implant get well adjusted and well tolerated by the body environment. During last two decades various methods were developed for HA synthesis. Due to inherent properties like low processing temperature, effective molecular mixing, and suitability to generate nanosized particles sol-gel processes are preferred. This book gives a quick insight on the procedural aspects of my research work in which Hydroxyapatite (HA) powder was synthesized by Sol- Gel route using two different chemical reagents. The synthesized powder was then used for coating on SS-304L substrate by the pulse laser deposition (PLD) technique. The HA coated substrate was further characterized in detail. Lastly, the corrosion behavior of HA-coated substrate in simulated body fluid was tested.
