It consumes agricultural, domestic, industrial and municipal waste and in return provides methane gas which is capable of burning. Digested Sludge from biogas unit also serves as organic manure for growing crops. Biogas technology is also adapted for power generation and as bio-fuel in automobiles. This technology needs further boost from state and national civil authorities to gain its additional benefits.
