O knihe
Cancer is the cause of 27% of deaths in France. Since 1990, it has been the leading cause of death for men and the second leading cause of death (after cardiovascular diseases) for women. But above all, between the ages of 35 and 64, it is responsible for 41% of male deaths and 46% of female deaths. It is therefore by far the disease that causes the greatest number of years of life lost. Progress has meant that cancer has lost its mysterious character; its mechanisms can be analysed at the level of the cell or the molecule. In fact, progress in epidemiology has shown that 75% of cancers are linked to individual lifestyle habits: alcohol, tobacco, the way we eat. Cancer is no longer represented by a twist of fate, it is a disease whose causes can be analysed and whose probability can be reduced by individual action. Breast cancer is the most frequent cancer in women and beyond the trauma that the announcement of the pathology can cause, the woman must prepare herself to live a more than painful experience which is that of the ablation, the mastectomy.
