The Evangelical Alliance has been privileged for the long period of Sixty-six years to issue to the Churches the annual Call to Intercession represented by the Universal Week of Prayer. The movement has grown to be co-extensive with the Christian world, and during the first complete week of each new year the Pro gramme, translated into many languages and dialects, guides the devotions of all Nations.

The addresses contained in this volume were given at the Central London Meetings, held at the King's Hall (holborn Restaurant). They were delivered in the atmosphere of unity and love, and in the felt presence and power of God the Holy Spirit. It is in prayer meetings of this nature that the Church will find the power to meet the social difficulties of the day, and to effectually minister to the spiritual needs of mankind. May their number and in¿uence be greatly multiplied.
