Cancer is a disease that produces changes for people who get sick and their families in the personal, family, social and professional spheres. The analyzed articles indicated several experiences and feelings of the family caregiver, encompassing daily changes, fear, anguish, anxiety, uncertainty, overload, fear of death and depressive symptoms, which compromised the mental, physical and spiritual health of the caregiver, affecting the form of care to the ill family member.
