O knihe
Cell culture is the complex process by which cells are grown under controlled conditions. In practice, the term "cell culture" has come to refer to the culturing of cells derived from multicellular eukaryotes, especially animal cells. However, there are also cultures of plants, fungi and microbes, including viruses, bacteria and protists. Cell culture refers to the removal of cells from an animal or plants and are subsequently grown in a favorable artificial environment. The cells may be removed from the tissue directly and dis-aggregated by enzymatic or mechanical means before cultivation, or they may be derived from a cell line or cell strain that has already been established. There are difficult types of culture including cell culture, plant culture and tissue culture but here we will be discussing more on cell culture and its practical approach including types of cell culture, choice of materials, source of tissues, sub-culturing, selection of medium, isolation of cells for culture, contamination and its application.
