O knihe
Climate change impact is explicit and the adaptation is implicit. The impact of climate change is different in different places within a small country like Nepal. This book tells about a study done in Small Village District Committee (VDC) of Bardiya district. Here it was found temperature has increased while precipitation has decreased. People reported change in climate and farming system in their locality, since they are experiencing erratic rainfall pattern, increased temperature, increased frequency and length of drought associated with decrease in water sources, disappearance of local cultivars, and appearance of new invasive weeds in recent years. Temperature is found to be positively correlated with the production of rice, wheat and maize. People have started adaptation measures such as adoptions of new cultivars, construction of irrigation canals, use of treadle pump, electric machine irrigation, changing planting time, seasonal vegetables production, cultivation by IPM spontaneously. Well off farmers have been better adopted while the poor farmers are still vulnerable. Thus the study help planner and programmer about combating climate change for improve livelihood.
