Library collection development and collection security issues are the twin sides of a coin.Vandalism, theft, damages to books are the most common threats faced by the libraries. There are several ways of identifying these issues. In this book a combination research method comprising structured questionnaire for the students, interview schedule for librarians and physical verification of damages to books was used. Statistical tools like Mean, SD, Chi Square, p value and f test etc., were used for testing the hypotheses. The results of the study make an interesting reading. The PhD work shown in this book has added to the existing literature and new knowledge in the field of Library and Information Science.
