During the period from 1925 to 1930, the ratio of immigration to population was 25 per In previous periods the ratio was much higher - going as high as 141 per from 1847 to 1854. That is the peak period for the time we have been keeping those figures. If the present immigration quota of some were completely used the ratio of immigration to population would be about 10 per the first year and would gradually decline.
