Livestock is crucial for the livelihood, and essential component driving force of overall farming system in the Tropics and Sub-tropics. The underlined constraints hindering livestock's productivity in the tropical counties like Ethiopia is shortage of animal feed in-terms of quality and quantity. This situation is exacerbated by seasonal fluctuations and the problem of feed resources utilization strategies. In Ethiopia, crop residues availability is increased, which results in increased feed resources such as stover and straw, however, its feeding value is limited due to its rough physical appearance and high cell-wall fractions. This book is therefore, presents some of the appropriate strategies to improve the feeding value and efficient utilization of crop residues like maize stover as a substitute to grass hay on the performance and carcass characteristics of yearling growing sheep.
