Algeria is characterized by its floral diversity: Mediterranean, Saharan and Paleo Tropical flora, estimated at over three thousand (3000) species belonging to several botanical families. These species are mostly spontaneous, with a significant number (15%) of endemic species, which has given traditional pharmacopoeia an inestimable wealth.Our aim is to contribute to the creation of an Algerian pharmacopoeia of medicinal plants. The valorization of endemic species of Algerian flora, as well as the rich and varied traditional medicine (due to the large surface area and different geographical regions), are national heritages to be safeguarded.
