Cooperative learning among students is an essential element of inclusive classrooms. Cooperative learning represents a shift in educational paradigm from teacher-centered approach to a student-centered learning in small group. Cooperative learning has received increased attention in recent years due to the movement to educate students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. In a multicultural classrooms conflicting &competitive atmosphere are likely to happen and one can expect a hostile atmosphere in the class. On the contrary, cooperative learning encourages group work and believes in consensus. It encourages students to take up responsibilities and negotiate with group members.
