Although cotton is mainly grown for fiber purpose but it has many valuable uses as its seed comprises of 30% starch, 25% crude oil and 16.2% protein. Current estimates for world production are about 25 million tons or 110 million bales annually, accounting for 2.5% of the world's arable land.
