O knihe
The present work is a psychological analysis of a few novels in English by Indian writers where different fictional characters defend their ego by using different mechanisms of defense, though consciously, in various traumatic situations of their life. The study not only provides deep understanding into the psychic functioning of various characters created by the writers but also enables the analyst to comprehend the feelings and emotions of even those characters who appear to be concerned mainly with the task of solving their worldly problems. It has also been revealed that defense mechanisms are commonly used by the people to (a) defend their ego and (b) to remove the anxiety aroused by certain horrible situations of their life. The analysis of the present work enabled the analyst to comprehend fully not only the characters in those literally works but also the people around her in her real life whom she often comes in contact with.
