Thesis (M.A.) from the year 2018 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: Peace and Conflict Studies, Security, grade: 75, , course: MSc International Relations, language: English, abstract: This research explores some of the major aspects of 'deradicaIisation' approach and finds more about their flaws and weaknesses. Deradicalisation and disengagement programmes have been initiated in the most parts of Europe. Even though such approaches are perceived as important initiatives for the field of counter radicalisation, they possess limitations and weaknesses. This study hopes to identify some of the main problems with this approach.
The main chapters in this paper include: Methodological aspects of the study and how the research was conducted. It also highlights the literature surrounding 'deradicalisation' via exploring its major features. Finally, the current literature is going to be used as an analytical basis to evaluate the Case Study on French deradicalisation programme via exploring the reasons behind its failure, follows by recommendations and conclusion.
