O knihe
Dielectric resonator antennas have great potential to become one of the most important components in the next generation of high performance communication systems. Currently these antennas find applications in many wireless portable devices such as PDAs, laptops and handsets. When using wireless portable devices, user body is constantly exposed to the electromagnetic radiations emitted from the antennas of these devices. The Specific absorption rate (SAR) is used to quantify the power absorbed in the bio-tissues per unit mass expressed in W/kg. SAR measurements are performed using a tissue-equivalent medium, whose dielectric properties simulate the average properties of human body or head tissues. SAR sensitivity coefficients depend on many parameters such as frequency, permittivity and conductivity of medium, distance between antenna and medium, near field versus far field, polarization of antenna etc. The present work is motivated by the need to know the SAR distributions/amount of power absorption in a bio-layer due to dielectric resonator antennas/antenna arrays, which are frequently used in wireless portable devices.
