In the days following 9/11 Europe was placid on the surface, but underneath, it was tense and preparing to deal with an expanding network of terrorists already in place and planning to strike. France had the best preparations in place, having been tested constantly by terrorist organizations aligned with Muslim radicals associated with a myriad of causes dating back to the late 1950s, when its colonial empire in northern Africa began to give way.
The attacks on New York City and Washington, DC were just the beginning. In Paris, two Pakistani agents were activated and tasked to assassinate the First Lady of France and the U.S. Ambassador. Tony Chase, a New York attorney and investment banker, who through happenstance escaped being in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11, was traveling through Paris on business, when a personal excursion to Bordeaux placed him close to the center of this sinister plot.
This thriller takes you through sectors of Paris not frequented by tourists, ventures through its vast and efficient Metro system, travels to Bordeaux on the TGV - France's high-speed train, and wanders through this beautiful city and the surrounding wine producing areas as a team of terrorists works to outwit the French internal security apparatus.
