O knihe
Extraction of groundnut oil as a processing method provides a high quality oil, which, because of its ease of refining, outstanding stability and general characteristics, enjoys a price premium over competitive oils such as those derived from soya beans and sunflower. This activity is mainly engaged by women who are mostly processing at the cottage level. Groundnut oil extraction is particularly common activity of women in Kano State, making an important contribution to empowering women in the society. Most of these women do their processing manually which accounts for low productivity and profitability. An array of oil products of Asian origin are brought into the Nigeria, indicating low level of production which does not adequately satisfy domestic requirement. However, poverty in Nigeria is predominant among the rural people and particular among women. The state of rural women's incomes, health, nutrition, education, social amenities and social welfare were generally below standard which militates against economic and social progress. In order to improve the socio-economic status of women groundnut oil processors.
