O knihe
In developed nations, smoking is the leading preventable cause of death and disability. One of the major hazards to the present and future health of the world is the fast-rising rate of smoking in the developing countries. For most smokers, quitting smoking is the single most essential thing they can do to improve their health. One of the best and most economical things that doctors and other healthcare providers can do to promote health and extend the lives of their patients is to encourage smoking cessation. Tobacco smoking is the world¿s largest cause of avoidable premature mortality, reflecting the strong toxicity of tobacco smoke inhaled by smokers for decades. The epidemic of diseases brought on by tobacco was heralded by the emergence of systemic disease. Since tobacco smoking is the most addictive process, tobacco cessation must be offered more widely by all the dental hospitals and institutes in urban and rural areas. Integration of these services in the health Delivery system is a necessity especially among the population.
