This story is not an historical account. It is set in Timor in the mid 1970's, against the backdrop of the Indonesian invasion and the annexation of the former Portugese colony. The Australian Government has deployed a Task Force from RAAF 9 squadron, tasked with locating and extracting Australian Nationals from remote regions and repatriating them to Australia. Repeated and crippling attacks on the Australian FOB at Maliana, in the Central Highlands has severely limited the Squadron's ability to complete its tasks and a solution must be found.
The story focuses on Sgt Stephen Hill who is tasked with locating and assessing the threat posed by the individual attacking the FOB and eliminating that threat, if necessary.
Steve's mission turns lethal and his return to the safety of the 9 Squadron base rides in the balance,bringing life and death into sharp relief.
