Cross-disciplinary approaches are finding increasing and significant applications in all research fields. Advances in engineering techniques and methodologies are proving immensely beneficial to biological and medical research community. Micro and nanoscale technology offers novel ways to precisely control cellular microenvironments and investigate cell behaviour in vitro.
