Antibiotic resistance of the causative agents of infectious diseases is a worldwide health problem in biology and medicine. Mechanisms of resistance to anti microbial used to treat infectious disease have been known since before antibiotics were introduced into routine clinical usage. Unconsidered and often overuse of anti microbial has,however, compounded the problem by enriching for resistant bacterial populations at the expense of sensitive ones.
