O knihe
Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most frequently injured ligament in the knee and a major area of research worldwide due to large number of athletes being involved in professional sports where fast recovery is essential. Surgeons worldwide started with using traditional transtibial techniques. However results in terms of return to sports were not promising & premature onset of osteoarthritis continued to rise. This led to shift towards more anatomical reconstructions and recent years have seen a boom in double bundle reconstructions. This book clearly highlights the evolution of various reconstruction techniques over the past 3-4 decade, the current trends and at the same time putting forth the advantages and disadvantages of each technique as it arrived on the world scene. It also presents authors study of this problem and simple tips for performing true anatomical reconstructions. The present work primarily suffices the needs and will prove to be extremely useful for surgeons, physicians and also the injured sports person in helping decide the best way to deal with this very common injury.
