O knihe
The aim of this book is to take stock of the situation and knowledge on the issue of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) from an angle that is not sufficiently taken into account - the involvement of young people. Indeed, FGM illustrates a paradox that is not sufficiently highlighted: although it is indisputable that girls and young women are the victims of this harmful social norm, they remain in the blind spot of research and action strategies in France. The issue of FGM is thus monopolized by adults, and little thought has been given to how to engage young people in a meaningful way in the fight against FGM. Through the testimonies of two young women, we will try to answer the following question: what commitment and involvement of young people is possible in the associative environment of the fight against female genital mutilation?
