O knihe

The concept of Israel's priesthood holds an important position not only in the Pentateuch but also in the rest of the Old Testament. Its placement in the Tanak has greatly influenced Jewish and Christian theology over the centuries. However, very little critical research has been done into its exegetical and theological foundations. This book therefore provides a detail exegetical and theological understanding of Israel's priestly calling in the narrative of Exodus and its intertextual readings in the New Testaments (1 Pet. 2:1-10, Rev. 1:6; 5:10; 20:6). To achieve this purpose the analysis employed the rhetorical criticism to deal with the rhetorical question of the text as it relates to the issue of Israel's priestly identity and mission. The study discloses that the concept of 'priestly nation' continues to play a key role in shaping the identity of contemporary Ghanaian Charismatic Churches.
