O knihe
The book attempts to describe the evolution that research in the field of Geo-Heritage and Geoprotection has had since 1990. Starting from the Geosites project, we are witnessing an evolution of the concepts, perhaps typical of the academic world. Thus, we are assisting the definition of Geomorphosites, which are Geosites with a morphological character, of Geodiversity, which encloses all the knowledge about the Geological Science, and rises from similarity with biodiversity. The concept of Geotourism was created afterwards, hoping to publicize and popularize the basic concepts of geology to the population; with the same intent later the associations or new manners of study as well as Geology and Wine, Geology and Myths and Geoarchaeology were born. Lastly, the creation of the Geoparks by UNESCO, on the other hand, is of great value, finally placing large areas under protection, as well as the areas of geological patrimonial interest of humanity (Mount Etna, Aeolian Islands, Dolomites, etc.), but this is not a complete solution, because the geosites out of the parks are not under protection. Lastly, some already existing problems and possible solutions are shown.
